Born in Chicago....raised in the country....on to school...heard the Beatles..more school...discovered another magical sound on the "country" side of rock'n'roll.....and that's where it started getting REALLY fun!
Did the "Nashville"thing...one of many with aspirations to take a shot at something good and all that goes with it.........playing the"Opry" with many vintage artists, Billy Walker, Stonewall Jackson, Freddie Hart. And contemporary artist/songwriters ....Paul Overstreet, Martin Delray. Club gigs, big budget sessions(NOT!), "Nashville Now", more club gigs.......
Looking back.....the best bit of it all for me? Getting paid(usually!) to play music, hang out in Nashville, getting to know and rub elbows with some of the best..... absorbing the wealth of musical energy all around you.
And lastly, a strange turn-of-events....meeting my future wife, Janice, and becoming a part of the Newman clan.
Inspired to try some teaching ideas and mini course concepts we end up here, just doin' alright ...keeping in touch and promoting the cause.....the magical sound of steel guitar......of course!

...in case you don't know it you're looking at an angel and an ideal musician's wife. One of the first and long-standing friends I've had since my arrival in Nashville, also my then future wife's bestest friend since childhood. Gone..but not forgotten.
